This Privacy Policy applies to the Al-Nashama Streets (Passenger) and Al-Nashama Captain (Driver) mobile applications (collectively, the “Services”) developed by Al-Nashama Team (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
- Account Information: Name, phone number, and profile picture when you register.
- Driver Documents (Captain App): Driver’s license, vehicle registration, and ID photos for verification.
- Location Data (Crucial):
- Passenger App: We collect your precise location (GPS) in the foreground to facilitate pickup and drop-off.
- Captain (Driver) App: We collect your precise location in the foreground and background (even when the app is closed or not in use) to allows passengers to track your ride, calculate fares, and ensure safety during active trips.
- Device Information: Device model, OS version, and unique device identifiers (for notification and security purposes).
- App Usage Data: Crash logs and performance metrics via Google Firebase.
We use your data for the following purposes:
- Service Provision: To connect passengers with drivers and facilitate transportation.
- Safety & Tracking: To allow passengers to track their ride in real-time.
- Communication: To send ride updates, booking confirmations, and important service notifications.
- Customer Support: To resolve disputes and answer inquiries.
3. Permissions We Request
Android Permissions
- Location (
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Required for the core functionality of booking and fulfilling rides.
- Background Location (
ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION) - Driver App Only: Required to track the driver’s trip progress even if they switch to another app (e.g., for navigation) or lock their screen.
- Camera & Storage: To upload profile pictures and driver documents.
- Phone (
CALL_PHONE): To allow drivers and passengers to contact each other directly.
- Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To alert you about ride status changes.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with trusted third-party services to maintain our app functionality:
- Google Maps Platform: For mapping, navigation, and location services.
- Google Firebase: For authentication, database management, cloud functions, and notifications.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Retention: We retain your data as long as your account is active.
- Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time via the “Delete Account” option within the app settings or by contacting us.
